Description
These air fryer grilled cheese hot dogs are a high-protein twist on two comfort food classics. Crisp on the outside, melty on the inside, they come together in under 10 minutes with minimal cleanup.
Ingredients
- 2 slices sandwich bread
- 2 teaspoons mayonnaise or butter
- 1 slice cheddar or American cheese
- 1 beef or turkey hot dog
- Toothpicks (2–3 per roll)
Instructions
- 1. Spread mayonnaise or butter on one side of each bread slice.
- 2. Place cheese on the non-mayo side of the bread.
- 3. Lay one hot dog over the cheese and roll the bread around it tightly.
- 4. Secure both ends with toothpicks to prevent unrolling.
- 5. Preheat air fryer to 375°F.
- 6. Place wrapped hot dogs in the basket seam-side down.
- 7. Air fry for 4–6 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- 8. Remove toothpicks and serve with ketchup, mustard, or dipping sauce.
Notes
- You can substitute turkey hot dogs or low-carb wraps for a leaner option.
- Add jalapeños, pickles, or mustard inside before rolling for flavor variations.
- These reheat well at 350°F for 2–3 minutes.
