Description

A creamy, high-protein bisque loaded with shrimp and crab, made with simple pantry ingredients. Ideal for meal prep and weeknight comfort.


Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 shallots, minced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 3 cups seafood or chicken broth
  • 1 cup light cream or evaporated milk
  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 lb lump crab meat
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • 1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  • 2. Add shallots and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
  • 3. Stir in tomato paste and spices; cook 1 minute.
  • 4. Add broth, bring to a simmer for 7 minutes.
  • 5. Blend for smooth texture if desired.
  • 6. Stir in cream, then add shrimp and crab.
  • 7. Simmer 3–5 minutes until shrimp is pink.
  • 8. Season to taste. Garnish with parsley. Serve warm.

Notes

  • To freeze: Make the base only, add cream and seafood fresh.
  • For dairy-free: Substitute full-fat coconut milk.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container up to 3 days.
