Description
A creamy, high-protein bisque loaded with shrimp and crab, made with simple pantry ingredients. Ideal for meal prep and weeknight comfort.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 shallots, minced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp thyme
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 3 cups seafood or chicken broth
- 1 cup light cream or evaporated milk
- 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 lb lump crab meat
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- 1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- 2. Add shallots and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
- 3. Stir in tomato paste and spices; cook 1 minute.
- 4. Add broth, bring to a simmer for 7 minutes.
- 5. Blend for smooth texture if desired.
- 6. Stir in cream, then add shrimp and crab.
- 7. Simmer 3–5 minutes until shrimp is pink.
- 8. Season to taste. Garnish with parsley. Serve warm.
Notes
- To freeze: Make the base only, add cream and seafood fresh.
- For dairy-free: Substitute full-fat coconut milk.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container up to 3 days.
